If you are looking for a therapist, you have taken the first step already. You might feel low, anxious, distressed. You might be stuck or confused. You might be challenged by unhealthy thoughts and trapped in behavioural patterns. You might be interested to know yourself more and develop personal awareness to unleash your potential. A therapist is professionally trained to help you achieve these goals and explore your feelings.
Individual therapy consists of regular, usually weekly, 50 minutes sessions. Therapy is your personal journey shared with the professional figure of the therapist during which we can make sense of things. In individual therapy, you are the focus. We will use the sessions as an opportunity to discuss about life events, feelings, dreams, thoughts with the aim of facilitating your process of discovery and positive change.
How long does it last? There is no straightforward answer to this question. The length of the therapy journey usually depends on what you want to achieve. It varies if you want to focus your therapy journey on a very specific issue, or if you are open to dive in more existential issues. Whichever the case, we will discuss and agree together on the length of your journey and you are free to extend or shorten it at any stage of its progress.
